About
Accord is a political party in Nigeria, positioned on the centre-right and associated with corporatism and populism, with its colour being green. Its national headquarters is at No.15 Jos Street, Area 3, Garki, Abuja. The party has held a small number of seats in the National Assembly and state legislatures, and in 2026 gained control of a state government when Ademola Adeleke was re-elected as Osun State governor under its banner.
History
Accord was founded in 2006. In the 2015 National Assembly election, the party won one seat in the House of Representatives, held by Dauda Kako Abayomi Are from Mushin I constituency, and won none of the 109 seats in the Senate. Its national leadership changed in July 2024, when Maxwell Mgbudem succeeded Muhammad Lawal Nalado as national chairman. In November 2025, Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke joined Accord after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, and was nominated as the party's candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election. In the election held on 15 August 2026, he was re-elected with 511,067 votes, giving Accord control of its first state government.
