History
Offa's recorded history includes a series of kings, known as Olofas, who ruled the town since its founding in the late 14th century. Conflicts such as the Jalumi War marked the reigns of several rulers in the 19th century. The arrival of the railway in 1896 and the coming of Christian missionaries in the early 20th century brought major changes, and Offa later became an administrative centre.
