History
Faskari is said to have been settled by Arab migrants Gido and Wari, who moved from Alkalawa (Gobir) to Zaria and settled among the Mafaskara people. The town possibly dates back to 1778 and was later developed into a more civilized community during the reign of Muhammed Bello, Emir of Katsina from 1844 to 1886. Faskari became a Local Government Area in May 1989, carved out of Funtua Local Government Area. The local government was created on 15 May 1989 by the military administration of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
