Dutsi is a town and Local Government Area in Katsina State, Nigeria. The LGA covers an area of 283 square kilometres and had a population of 120,023 at the 2006 census. Its population is mainly Hausa and Fulani, and the predominant religion is Ilam. Hausa and Fufulde are the languages spoken locally. Farming is a major economic activity, and the Dutsi Main Market draws buyers and sellers from within and around the LGA.

History

In 1996, the Dutsi local government area was established.
