History
The origin of Shanono town is traced to the brothers Jaulere and Shanu, who came from Hadejia, in present-day Jigawa State, to graze and rear cattle. Finding the land fertile and suitable, the eldest settled first, and other people later came to settle with them. Shanu later moved a little to the present Shanono town, leaving his brother Jaulere at the place now called Jaulere, and established his hut (Riga) in present Shanono town.
