Owerri North

About

Owerri North is a Local Government Area of Imo State in Nigeria, with its headquarters in the town of Orie Uratta. It covers an area of 198 square kilometres and had a population of 175,395 at the 2006 census. The area is semi-urban and encircles Owerri Municipal like a peninsula. Six major roads leading out of Owerri Municipal cross the Owerri North communities, including routes towards Amakaohia, Akwakuma, Orji, Obibi Uratta, Ihitaoha, Egbu, Emekuku, Naze, Agbala and Ulakwo.
