Jere

About

Jere is a local government area of Borno State in northeastern Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Khaddamari, and London Ciki is a community within the area under Maimusari ward. The area covers a total of 868 square kilometres and has a hot semi-arid climate similar to that of the nearby Maiduguri area, with a rainy season from June to September and a dry season with strong Harmattan winds from October to May.

History

Jere is one of the sixteen local government areas that make up the Borno Emirate, a traditional state located in Borno State, Nigeria.
