Gamawa is a Local Government Area of Bauchi State in northeastern Nigeria. It borders Yobe State to the east and Dambam to the south, and its headquarters are in the town of Gamawa. The area covers 2,925 square kilometres and had a population of 286,388 at the 2006 census.
