Orumba South

About

Orumba South is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, south-eastern Nigeria. Umunze is its headquarters. Other towns in the local government include Akpujiogu (Akpu), Umuomaku, Eziagu, Ezira, Ihite, Nkerehi (Umuchukwu), Nawfija, Ogboji, Ogbunka, Owerre-Ezukala, Agbudu, Onneh, Isulo, and Enugwu-Umuonyia. It falls under the Anambra South senatorial district. The area is predominantly Igbo, with the Igbo language widely spoken and Christianity the most prevalent religion. Farming, markets such as the Eke Isulo and Nkwo Ogbunka markets, hunting, fishing and wood carving are important economic activities.
