Dunukofia

About

Dunukofia is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria. Its headquarters is Ukpo, and the local government also includes the towns of Ifitedunu, Umunnachi, Umudioka, Ukwulu and Nawgu. It shares boundaries with Awka North, Idemili North, Njikoka and Oyi Local Government Areas, and falls under the Anambra Central senatorial district. The population is predominantly agrarian, with crops such as yam, rice, cassava and maize, and major progress has been made in commerce and education. The area has general hospitals at Ifitedunu and Ukpo, around a dozen high schools, and is among the most accessible local governments in Anambra State, with federal and state roads crossing it.
