Fufure
About
Fufore is a town and local government area in Adamawa State, Nigeria. Farming is the main occupation of its people, with crops such as millet, rice, beans, soya beans and sorghum grown in the area. The Gurin cattle market and several other markets serve as trading platforms for local goods and services.
History
In 2014, people fleeing violence in Gwoza built a new town in Fufore at the existing hamlet of Daware (or Damare), off the Yola-Mubi highway. Residents were allotted farm and building plots, and a school was set up at Damare Camp for the children, with teachers volunteering from Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, and American University of Nigeria, Yola.
