PPPRA

About

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) was a Nigerian government agency set up to monitor and regulate the supply and distribution of petroleum products in Nigeria, and to determine their prices. Its headquarters was in Abuja.

History

The PPPRA was established in 2003. Its Board of 26 members included representatives of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Finance, employers' and labour bodies, road transport associations and petroleum marketers' associations. Following the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act (2021), the agency was merged with the Department of Petroleum Resources and the Petroleum Equalisation Fund to form the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NMDPRA), and the PPPRA is now defunct.
